Discover how The Foundry are managing bookings effortlessly with the help of Beyonk’s intuitive software.
The Foundry is a unique craft brewery, distillery, restaurant and bar in Canterbury. They have over 16 handcrafted ales, lagers and ciders available made with all natural ingredients of the highest quality by co-founder Jon Mills.

Removal of the AirBnb website plug-in forced The Foundry to look for alternative booking solutions.

The Foundry first began offering brewery tours in 2019, just before the outbreak of COVID-19 after successfully running tours for an American tour group. With initial support from Visit Kent, they opened it out to the public to gain some insight into the brewery process and chose AirBnb due to the business exposure it could give them.
The Foundry were initially using Airbnb for their bookings, along with a website plug-in which integrated an Airbnb booking form onto their site. They believed that most of their bookings were coming through AirBnb’s website rather than their own. However, AirBnb made the decision to remove the plug-in causing them to stop receiving any bookings.
Though it took a while to discover why bookings had stopped, The Foundry realised most of their bookings were being made via their own website and the need for an alternative booking solution that could integrate with their website was essential.

The Foundry came across their perfect booking alternative when attending a Beyonk presentation at the Canterbury Cathedral.

Not long before their plug-in was removed, The Foundry had attended an event at the Canterbury Cathedral Lodge where Beyonk gave a presentation about their booking software. This alleviated any concerns the team had about making a switch over to Beyonk as the information presented helped them to understand the benefit Beyonk could offer their business.
When it became essential for them to find an alternative solution, Beyonk was at the top of their list and they made the decision to switch very quickly.
“Since moving to Beyonk, it’s empowered us with the knowledge that AirBnb wasn’t our biggest source of bookings, it was actually our own website. The system is very easy to use even for me and we had no difficulty transferring to a new system. Even the booking form integration was seamless for us to implement.”

Despite previously having a ten-year-old website design and no marketing support, The Foundry tours have been performing well and the team expect that to rise in future months.

The Foundry have increased their chances of exposure by sharing their tour tickets on Beyonk’s marketplace and the Visit Kent website, who are a Beyonk partner.
“Now we have a stable booking system in place, we’re looking to increase our marketing efforts. We’ve hired a consultant who is starting to look at everything we do, including how we can utilise the Beyonk system to its fullest potential. We’re looking to increase our tours and bookings as we are launching a new website and are aiming to sell tickets or one-off events throughout next year, the first of which is likely to be for the launch of our whisky in February.”

Ease of use, reasonable booking fees and good customer value has set Beyonk apart from the crowd.

“I would recommend Beyonk because of its ease of use. It does exactly what it says on the website which is what every business needs to hear when they’re thinking about making a change like this. It does the job you’re paying for and compared to something like AirBnb, it’s very good value and that extra charge is something you can actually pass onto the customer which the customer seems very happy with, as it’s very cheap. Beyonk seems to explain that extra charge very well at the point of sale because it’s easy for my customers to understand where that charge is coming from because no one has ever questioned it.”
