Highlights
Explore the surreal remains of a WW2 aircraft, which crashed on the bleak moorlands of the Peak District, and remains clearly visible on the ground today. The aluminium fusealage of the allied aircraft we visit look as bright and fresh today as ever, creating a humbling memorial to the crew who crashed here during WW2. All aircraft wrecks are well off the beaten track and you'll be accompanied by a qualified local guide. While you won't need navigation skills while you're with your guide, you will need proper mountain walking equipment to reach in safety and comfort.Itinerary10am: Meet instructor, introductions, equipment check.
The walk from the road to the aircraft wreck takes around an hour, depending on the fitness of participants and the weather conditions. We'll spend around an hour at the wreck before returning to the road by the reverse route.
