Highlights

Full-Day Guided Mountain Bike Tour – Purbeck Hills & Jurassic Coast

Get ready for an unforgettable day exploring one of Dorset’s most spectacular riding landscapes. Our full-day mountain bike tour begins with a gentle warm-up through the tranquil Rempstone Heath, where glimpses of the iconic Corfe Castle set the scene for the adventure ahead.
Our first challenge arrives with a rewarding climb onto the Purbeck Hills, leading us to the striking Grange Arch – an 18th-century folly built by Denis Bond to frame the sweeping views from his Creech Grange estate. From here, we follow a high chalk ridge with breathtaking 360° panoramas across Dorset’s coastline and countryside.
A thrilling descent delivers us into the historic village of Corfe Castle for a well-earned lunch stop. Dominating the landscape, the castle keep—built in the early 12th century for King Henry I—once stood as a gleaming limestone landmark visible for miles. It remains one of England’s most impressive medieval ruins.
Refuelled, we head out of the village towards a long, steady climb up Brenscombe Hill, keeping an eye out for the steam trains of the Swanage Railway puffing across the valley. The route then joins a classic chalk bridleway leading us to Ballard Down, where the dramatic chalk stacks of Old Harry Rocks come into view. Formed thousands of years ago, these iconic formations once connected with The Needles on the Isle of Wight before the sea carved them apart during the last ice age.
This tour blends archaeology, geology, and exhilarating riding—all set against some of the finest scenery the South Coast has to offer. Perfect for adventurous riders eager to experience the very best of the Purbecks in a single unforgettable day.
