Join our scrambling for hillwalkers course to help you gain the confidence and skills to start exploring new and exciting possibilities in the mountains. This course is aimed at people who either want to try scrambling for the first time and would like to learn core concepts of keeping yourself and your partner safe during your own adventures, giving you have the skills & knowledge to build confidence and competence on Grade 1/2 terrain.
Learn core skills to keep you and your partner safe on scrambling terrain

Coaching with movement to become more confident on scrambling terrain

Route finding skills, through use of the guidebook and while on route

Basic techniques on how to safe guard a 'second' with the use of the rope

How & when to construct belays, showing pros and cons of different methods
Day 1
We will cover kit carried, route finding, decision making on the route. How to move on scrambling terrain, how to use the feet appropriately to the features on the rock.
We will also spend some time on some basic rope work, belays how to set them up and organise them.
Day 2
On day two we will put into action what we have learned from day one on another scramble with the use of a rope to safeguard each other in different types of terrain and how to abseil should we need to.
