Santa's Grotto at Poole's Cavern 2025

Step into the magic of Christmas at Poole’s Cavern!   This December, Santa is opening the doors to his favourite grotto - a real underground wonderland tucked beneath the hills of Buxton. Journey through the twinkling lights of the cavern and share your Christmas wishes with Santa in his magical grotto!   Tickets & booking • Tickets: £20 per person entering the Cavern. • Infants under 12 months go free (ticket still required) and will receive a special gift from Santa. • Each slot welcomes up to 6 people (maximum of 3 children per group). • Please note: Santa’s Grotto is not suitable for dogs.   What’s included

• Every child under 16 will enjoy a personal visit with Santa, receiving a thoughtful, age-appropriate present and time for photos in his festive grotto.

• The cavern walk takes around 30 minutes, but you’re welcome to wander at your own pace.

  Accessibility

• Santa’s Grotto is fully accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. Beyond the grotto, some areas of the cavern have slopes and steps, and pushchairs or mobility aids cannot be taken further inside. 
• A small area for pushchair parking is available at the entrance.

All perfect for Christmas gifting.   Before you book Please take a moment to read this important information to make your visit as magical (and comfortable) as possible.   • Underground setting: Your Santa visit takes place inside Poole’s Cavern, where the temperature is a cool 7°C all year round. Please wrap up warm. • Accessibility: There are 28 steps in the cavern, the largest set being 11. Santa’s Grotto itself is step-free and fully accessible. • Decorations: The cavern will be beautifully dressed for Christmas and may include flashing lights. • Dogs: Only registered assistance dogs are permitted. • Parking: Pay & Display on-site parking is available — £2 for 4 hours or £3 all day.   During booking, you’ll be asked to share the names and ages of the children attending. This helps Santa and his elves choose the most suitable gifts. You don’t have to provide this information, but without it, we cannot guarantee the present will be perfectly matched.   Terms & Conditions By booking your tickets, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. • Each booking is given a timed entry to meet Santa. Slots are for up to 6 people with a maximum of 3 children. • Please arrive 5 minutes before your slot to validate your tickets at the Visitor Centre. One of Santa’s helpers will then guide you into the grotto. • No refunds can be given for unwanted tickets or late arrivals. As events usually sell out, we cannot guarantee entry if you arrive late. • If you are unable to attend, let us know at least 7 days in advance. We’ll do our best to rebook your visit, though this cannot be guaranteed.
