Custom Policy

We have tried to make our Terms & Conditions as simple and ‘transparent’ as possible so that everyone knows where we stand. When completing a booking form clients are asked to ensure they have read and agree to them. Please do take the time to become familiar with them or ask if there is something you don’t understand. We do adhere firmly to them and would always rather iron out questions first than have to deal with awkward conversations later.
2\. Cancellation by Client 2.1 All cancellations must be made in writing. 2.2 Once notified of the cancellation in writing, Peak Mountaineering will try to resell the course place(s). 2.3 In the event that Peak Mountaineering is able to re-sell the course place prior to the commencement date of the course, the client will receive a full refund less 20% of the course cost to cover administration fees. 2.4 Refunds will only be made after the commencement date of the course. 2.5 In the event that Peak Mountaineering is unable to re-sell the course place prior to the course commencement date the client will be charged the following cancellation fees: Your deposit (50% of the course fee) if the cancellation is made over 8 weeks before the start date of the course unless we can resell the place (see point 2.3). The full course fee if the cancellation is made less than 8 weeks before the course start date unless we can resell the place (see point 2.3). To cover this eventuality we recommend an insurance policy that includes cancellation or curtailment of your course or trip (see our FAQ page here for information on suitable insurance companies). 3. Cancellation by Peak Mountaineering 3.1 Although every attempt is made to ensure that courses run as scheduled, in the event that Peak Mountaineering needs to cancel a course due to unsuitable conditions or other unforeseen circumstances we will notify the client as soon as possible. 3.2 Peak Mountaineering will notify clients not less than seven full days prior to a course start date if a course needs to be cancelled because a workable minimum number of participants have not been reached. 3.3 Our Terms & Conditions are that cancellation by Peak Mountaineering does not affect a client’s right to a refund of travel costs that may have been incurred prior to the cancellation except in the circumstances set out in clauses 3.1 and 3.2. 3.4 In the event of cancellation by Peak Mountaineering clients will be offered the following options: Full refund of the course fee paid. Another course on different dates.
4\. Risks and Dangers Whilst we maintain high professional standards of client care and safety, you must realise and understand that climbing, mountaineering and other mountain related activities all take place in hazardous terrain. The risks involved can be minimised but never entirely eliminated. We therefore, as well as these Terms & Conditions, draw your attention to our Participation Statement and Safety Policy and ask that all clients read and agree to these before booking a course with us.
