Ever wanted to explore into the night? Perhaps your looking to try wild camping or looking for remote places to see the nights sky.
Not confident to go it alone? Venture into wild Dartmoor with Crag 2 Mountain on a Night Navigation experience and you’ll come away confident to take on your own adventures. Take your map reading and compass skills to the next level, discover Dartmoor’s history and explore the environment all on a fascinating nighttime Dartmoor walk.

Itinerary

A Crag 2 Mountain Night Navigation experience starts with a friendly welcome from your own personal instructor. Your instructor will work with you to establish what you would like to achieve from your experience. Followed by a brief introduction talk and an explanation of how the course will run.
Your instructor will guide you through your navigation experience and help you get to grips with the map and compass, covering any desired learning outcomes along the way.
The evening usually started in the fading light to give the group time to zone in on your maps before adapting your skills to the darkness.
Throughout your experience, you experience guide will teach you about Dartmoor’s fascinating history and wildlife environment.
You’ll finish off your experience feeling confident to tackle your own adventures.
Course content: • Detailed and more complex route planning, • Compass skills, • Tactical navigation strategies,
• Timing and pacing, • Interpreting contours and slope aspect, ​ Each night navigation course is tailored to suit the clients on the course. The starting times vary depending on the time of year.
