Highlights
A classic Kinder Scout hike, to it's quieter summit from Edale in the Peak District.
Starting from the village of Edale we head up one of the quieter and most impressive routes onto Kinder Scout. Once we reach the top we walk along the southern edge of Kinder, taking in little-known rock formations such as the Druids Stone. We will then reach the fantastic eastern corner of Kinder with it's magnificent views over to the Eastern Edges. Next we follow the northern side of Kinder and it's eastern summit trig point before taking one of the famous unmarked "Kinder Crossings" across the notoriously difficult to navigate plateau.
On our way back to Edale there a number of different route options we can take depending on the group and conditions on the day.
The walk is partly on good footpaths and partly rougher stony paths. There is one fairly long ascent of about 400m/1200ft and a similar descent at the end. There are likely to be some muddy sections and due to the nature of the Kinder Scout plateau we may well encounter areas of peat bogs.
You will need to be reasonably physically fit and have some experience of walking in rough terrain. Walking boots providing good ankle protection and grippy soles which will also keep your feet dry in boggy areas are definitely required. COVID-19 Guidance

We plan to start operating again from 29th March in line with the schedule published by the government. Initially groups of up to 6 or two households will be able to exercise in the outdoors. We expect the most popular areas will be very busy during the first two weeks (Easter Holidays) so our activities will initially be selected to cover the quieter locations that provide those great wide open experiences and we will only be taking new bookings for private individuals/groups for these first two weeks.
From 12th April we will return to running our full range of activities including open group bookings that individuals can book on in addition to private/bespoke bookings.
From 17th May: Larger groups will be able to meet in the outdoors.
Our "Book with Confidence" reschedule/refund guarantee continues to be in place for bookings made up to 14th March (see below). After this date we will still maintain the additional flexibility to reschedule your booking at any time if needed as a result of COVID-19 restrictions.
If you'd like to discuss options before booking please contact us. Thanks, Paul Smith, myGuidedWalks.
