Highlights
Weasling is a fun and athletic activity, involving exploring the bizarre gritstone rock formations of the Peak District in a range of different ways. As well as scrambling and easy low level climbing between the rocks, we'll aim to find the smallest gaps, tunnels and caves that we can and squeeze between them! It’s a good physical challenge, and is great fun for anyone who doesn’t mind getting a bit grubby. Think of weaselling as caving on the surface – you can always see the sun, but sometimes it’s a tight squeeze to get there. We'll try easy climbs and scrambles using your hands as well as your feet. In weaselling though, there are no ropes involved, so instead of high climbs, we look for lots of short, easy routes. It's a great way to try climbing quickly and with minimum preparation.
Itinerary10am: Meet instructor, introductions, learn how to put on the equipment. We will complete the weaselling circuit at Higgar Tor, with your instructor seeking out challenges that get progressively more exciting, until we've found a challenge for everyone!
1pm departure.
