Navigation Day - Dartmoor

A one day navigation course designed to give you the confidence to get out on the hills on your own. Starting with the basics of map reading we will head out on to Dartmoor to put this in to a real world context. During the day you will be introduced to and have the chance to practice a variety of navigation techniques. By the end of the day you will have the skills to go out on your own and consolidate your skills.

Itinerary

Meeting in Princetown in the heart of Dartmoor we will cover the basics indoors (currently outdoors to be covid secure) before heading out on the hills to put it all in to practice.

What you'll need
🧤 Warm Clothing - Enough to keep warm when we stop for extended periods.
☂️ Waterproofs - Even in summer it's still Britain, always a good chance of rain.
🍴 Food - Lunch and snack food for a day out on the hills
🥤 Drink - Enough water for a long day on the hills
📋 Other - Map and suitable compass for the course. Maps may be borrowed on the day.
