This tour is 10+ hours long
Leave Edinburgh
The first stop is at the western end of Loch Tay and the famous white water of the Falls of Dochart. This waterfall runs through the small town of Killin. View the falls from the village bridge. Admire the misty spray rising in the air as the river crashes into the rocks then flows around the Island of Inchbuie.
Drive through stunning Glen Coe
Take in the majestic landscape and keep an eye open for wildlife such as red deer and golden eagles. The mountain wilderness stretches out for miles giving you countless amazing photo opportunities.
Lunch in Fort William
Situated on the shores of Loch Linnhe, Fort William is famous as the starting point to climb Ben Nevis and as the start of the Caledonian Canal.
Relax and breathe the fresh mountain air of the outdoor capital of the world.
Corpach shipwreck
Continuing on a few miles, discover the ship that ran aground at the Corpach sea loch after a storm in December 2011. The sight of the shipwreck in the foreground and Ben Nevis in the background is a photographer’s dream. Next is Glenfinnan viaduct, instantly recognisable from the Harry Potter films. Absorb the special atmosphere amidst the beauty of the valley.
If you are lucky, see the iconic image of the Jacobite steam train chuffing over the viaduct.
Glenfinnan monument
Enjoy the captivating setting with its spectacular Highland scenery and views of Loch Shiel. The monument was built in 1815 to honour the fallen Jacobite clansmen who fought and died for Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Then it’s time to return home.
This tour showcases the jaw-dropping beauty of the Highlands while bringing history to life.
