Bodmin Moor Tour

  • Location Cornwall
  • Price from Ā£55.00

Highlights

Visiting legendary Bodmin Moor is stepping back in time. The moor is full of stories and history. Remember Daphne Du Maurier and her novel Jamaica Inn, set on out Bodmin Moor? There is a darkness to the moor and a brooding sense of what has gone before. Powerful spirits and energies seem to hold on here. The moor is littered with stone circles and other ancient monuments. Christian churches have made inroads, but holy wells and sacred sites are also pagan territory. The seemingly natural landscape is bleak and beautiful, cleared of trees in ancient times and now home to only a few human souls. Don't worry I will get back to civilization at the end of the day.

Itinerary

I will drive you to a variety of sites on and around Bodmin Moor. Sometimes we visit up to ten different locations. It depends on what you want to see and how much time you want to spend at each place. I do have my usual routes and favourite places to recommend to you. We definitely need to see the granite tors, at least one stone circle, one ancient Christian site, get a good pub lunch and visit a tin mine. If you are open-minded or a believer in 'earth energies' we can try to pick up on those too. We will probably see livestock out on the moor, sheep, cattle and ponies. Hopefully, all looking healthy. We may see wildlife too. Bodmin Moor is privately owned and access to members of the public is allowed. In some locations there are restrictions on me walking with you. But I'm never far away! There are usually no entry fees on this tour. If you would like to visit Davidstow Museum or Carnglaze Caverns you may add them as an optional extra. If you prefer a cafe or a picnic lunch please let me know.
