Owls are one of natures most mysterious creatures, surrounded by myth and legend. During one of our exclusive Owl Encounters, you’ll be able to handle, feed and fly a variety of these special birds in our undercover flying area and learn about their habitat, hunting techniques and more.

You will be greeted by a member of our team when you arrive at our centre in Newton St Loe, who will take you through a short Health and Safety briefing to ensure your experience is rewarding, safe and enjoyable.
You will get the opportunity to fly three different Owls varying in size and species. The whole experience will last approximately one hour, and during that time we will talk about each species in turn.
Important information:\\\\\\\\- Once you arrive at West of England Falconry you will be asked to fill out a disclaimer form for Health and Safety reasons. You can find a copy of this on our website:
www.westofenglandfalconry.org.uk, or we will provide you with one on your arrival.\\\\\\\\- Equipment: We will provide you with the specialist equipment required to handle our birds, however we would strongly encourage you to wear clothing and footwear suitable for a woodland/field walk and bring a long-sleeved top. Birds of Prey are not pets, please do not attempt to stroke or touch any of our birds during your experience. \\\\\\\\- Weather: Owl Encounters can be booked in all year round, and weather isn't usually a concern as we fly the Owls in our undercover flight area. But we reserve the right to cancel your Owl Encounter in the event of extreme weather and/or circumstances out of our control.\\\\\\\\- Cancellations: In the event that we have to cancel or reschedule your Owl Encounter for reasons mentioned above, we will be in contact with you as soon as we know. \\\\\\\\- Payments: All payments are taken on the day of the experience. We accept cash and most card types.\\\\\\\\- Access and mobility considerations: Our undercover flight area and Owl Encounter experience is completely wheelchair accessible. Back supported seating is provided and optional for the duration of your experience. If three or more individuals of your group have specific mobility requirements, we recommend that you contact us before booking. \\\\\\\\- Children welcome: Our Owl Encounters are a fascinating learning experience for children and we welcome family groups. The minimum age limit for partaking in all experiences is seven. The minimum age for unaccompanied young people is 18. \\\\\\\\- Spectators: you are most welcome to bring up to two spectators with you, at a cost of £10 per spectator. \\\\\\\\- Photography: You are welcome to take photos and videos during your Owl Encounter and we appreciate the opportunity take our own photos and videos for promotional and publicity purposes (including publication on Social Media). Please be sure to answer the photographic permission question on our Risk Assessment and Disclaimer Form when you arrive.
