Slovenia and its Soča Valley has become one of Europe's leading kayaking destinations.
Set aside the Julian Alps in the North West corner of the country, and a short drive to its border with Italy lies Europe's Emerald River, The Soča. Crystal clear water, smooth limestone gorges, and sections for a wide variety of paddlers, the Soča Valley is entrenched in history and the heart of Slovene culture.
Our course and the Soča River itself is known as the best classroom in Europe, so ideally suited for beginners all the way to grade 3 paddlers who want to sharpen up their skills, become more efficient in harder water and work on nailing lines with style. Our highly qualified and experienced coaches will spend time observing you and analyse your existing skill set and performance on the river, and discuss your individual needs and goals for your time with us, enabling us to work together to get the best outcome for you.
This course is run in a small group of up to 4 people (Group bookings of up to 8 can also be accommodated) where you can experience the benefits of peer learning and shared experiences, but the emphasis is very much on you. We aim to have you leave your time with us with improved boat control, confidence and invigorated enthusiasm for white water kayaking.
We pride ourselves on proving a truly immersive and cultural experience for those who join us on our expedition, we provide all coaches and river guides, accommodation, meals and transport excluding flights, so that after a hard day on the river you can relax, unwind and take in the breath taking views leaving all the arrangements to us.
Day 1Arriving in Slovenia we'll meet in Bovec, however those that choose to fly into Ljubljana Airport can be met by arrangements to travel to Bovec. Upon arrival we'll meet, greet and in time head out for dinner for everyone to experience a traditional Slovene meal. This also provides a great opportunity for everybody to initially get to know each other, discuss the coming week and enjoy some great food.
Bovec is a small picturesque mountain town in the Soča Valley and will be our home for the next 7 days. A number of evening workshops will run to help our coaches build up a picture of you, your goals and aspirations for the week and to bond as a group. Part of these workshops will be a general equipment check to make sure everybody is adequately prepared for a weeks paddling.
Day 2The second day is all about suiting up and getting out there for a days white water kayaking.
