ROUTE INFO
The Yorkshire Three Peaks is our most popular walking challenge. First walked in 1887, the route has been the site of the Three Peaks fell running race since 1954, and whilst it has been completed in less than 2.5 hours, we’ll take a more leisurely pace and aim to complete the route in under 12 hours.
Starting in the village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale, the first challenge of the day will be the smallest of the three peaks, Pen-Y-Ghent at 694m. From there we’ll drop back down and make our way towards the famous Ribblehead Viaduct and onto the next peak of the day, Whernside. At 736m its the highest of the three peaks and from the summit you should get stunning views of the Yorkshire Dales.
From there, we’ll drop back down before beginning our final ascent of the day to Ingleborough at 723m.
Whilst this is a tough challenge, it should be achievable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness and preparation. Our experienced guides will ensure we are able to stick at a comfortable pace to make it around in the time limit and will be on hand to ensure everyone has a safe, enjoyable day out.
