This day-long mini-adventure is a real treat for any budding photographer. You'll join seasoned photographer, Nick Landells, on a trek up Haystacks, learning more about landscape photography and snapping one of the Lakes most loved views!
This adventure is perfect if you’re interested in landscape photography, and enjoy the beautiful Lake District!
The day will be an anti-clockwise route up Haystacks (with a rocky ascent)! It will begin from Gatesgarth, Buttermere, and ascend around 1600 feet on solid paths. There is some scrambling involved, with it being ungraded, so below official “Easy”. A classic Lakes' walk with superb views, a visit to three tarns, including Innominate Tarn where Wainwright's ashes were scattered, and many great photo opportunities. Your day will last around 8 hours, so be sure to bring food and water!
Minimum group size is 5, maximum is 8.ItineraryYou'll meet up in the morning (9am), and will get to know the group and go through a quick outline of the day. You'll set off up an anti-clockwise route up Haystacks, learning how to make the most of the landscape for the best shots possible. There will be some "easy" scrambling on the way up, with a visit to three tarns which will provide excellent quality backdrops for you to practice your skills.
You'll have around 8 hours worth of photography tutoring and hiking so be prepared for a full day! On the way down there'll be plenty of photo opportunities with continued guidance from Nick.
