A two-day adventure in the Lake District, go from the “Heaven” up above to the “Hell” down below.... Get introduced to the art of Scrambling, on one of Britain's best ridges - Helvellyn. On day two explore the enchantiong tunnels, caves and caverns of Cathedral Quarry and Hodge Close! You will need to be active and healthy, expect to be walking upwards of 6 hours a day and have a head for heights. There's a minimum number required for this trip to go ahead, if you're a lone adventurer, give us a message and we'll add you to the waitlist.Day 1We'll meet at the designated starting point where we'll introduce everyone, check kit and talk through the awesome activities of the week. Once prepared, we will take on the beautiful Helvellyn via two classic ridge scrambles - We will ascend via Striding Edge and come back down Swirral Edge. Complete two of the best known ridges in the lakes in one day in a stunning walk (there will be a walking option for those who don’t feel up to the scrambling).Day 2We head over and show you the best of the tunnels, caves and caverns of Cathedral Quarry and Hodge Close! A great chance to explore different scenery that the dizzying heights of the day before.   Inclusions What's Included 🚆 Transportation - We can offer limited space for transport to and from rail connections and the two locations - speak to us prior to event. 🥤 Drink - Hot coffee / drinks on the hill... 🧰 Equipment - Any additional safety equipment required.   What you'll need 📋 Other - Clothing worn: Suitable clothing for a day out in the mountains, in variable weather. Suitable underwear and good quality walking socks – if you’re prone to blisters wear a thin liner sock underneath your walking sock. A wicking base layer – no cotton next to the skin if you can help it. Lightweight quick drying trousers or leggings. A windproof and waterproof outer jacket with waterproof trousers carried in pack. Light gloves and a hat – a warm hat and also something to keep the sun off your head. Carried in your pack: All contents to be waterproofed by placing in a heavy duty bin liner and rolling the top over as a minimum – dry bags are the best method. Waterproof trousers and the jacket if not being worn, A spare “warm layer” for when we stop or emergencies. Something that will keep you warm even if wet so consider synthetic insulation, hydrophobic down, wool or fleece – NO COTTON HOODIES. One spare pair of socks in their own waterproof bag (freezer bag works best) Spare gloves and a spare warm hat. Head torch Water Food /snacks. Any personal medication required.

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
