Experience Sussex - Cycle and Glamping

Highlights

A full day cycle tour from our farm over the best of South Downs, walking in the High Weald and a spot of fishing or being creative making a pottery beaker. Two nights Glamping in Shepherd huts or eco-lodge. Cooking together over a fire and on a BBQ.

Day 1

Meet, greet and settle in- we'll do a spot of gentle fishing and try your hand at making a small pottery object . Set bikes up ready for next day discuss route and highlight risks, Get started on Campfire cooking evening meal and outline the plan for the next two days.

Day 2

A 0930 set out on 40-mile circular ride to the South Downs via Alfriston and Firle Beacon stopping at Chiddingly for a tasty late lunch provided by myself. Returning back to our campsite late afternoon for another Campfire cooking experience. This route includes a long ascent section which climbs over 200m.

Day 3

A 0930 set off for a 3-hour circular walk from the campsite taking in the beautiful and historic High Weald home of the Ironworking industry in the 1500s. Approximately 9 miles it can be extended to 12 miles if the group prefers.

Inclusions

Comfort Accommodation

You will either be sleeping in the Glamping units or tents - the glamping pods are cosy, so be prepared to get snug!

    What's included

  • Food All food including at least one meal out. You may like to bring snack/energy bars. Everyone to help with preparation/cooking/washing up.
  • Drink Basic hot cold drinks available on the campsite at all times.
  • Equipment Sleeping bags and Glamping accommodation. Bikes/Helmets are provided for the days cycling.

    What you'll need

  • Warm Clothing It can get cold on the top of the Downs and around the campfire in the evenings, bring layers and a small day pack for cycling and walking.
  • Waterproofs we can swap days to get the best conditions for our cycle ride, however best to have full lightweight waterproofs in case.
  • Food All food including at least 1 pub meal. There are slight limitations for food allergies or preferences given that we are camping.
  • Drink All basics provided on site - you will need a water bottle for days out, if you want to bring a bottle for the evenings.
  • Camping Equipment Torch, suitable footwear - don't forget a woolly hat. Suitable footwear for both days.
  • Other Please bring a sealed envelope with your name clearly on it. Inside include your address, next of kin and their contact number and address, Your GP Surgery, any medication you are taking and any allergies to medication. If you wish to bring own your bike and/or helmet thats fine. Getting Here- By train to Polegate and Taxi or Bus to Horam and I will collect.

Cancellations

Custom Policy

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
  • Alternate dates may be able to be agreed at no additional cost, but this is not guaranteed.
