This course will introduce you to the main skills you would require to survive and leave you with a good understanding which, if you wanted to, can be taken further to increase your depth of knowledge and ability. As most things in the outdoors take longer than expected we will be working in groups to ensure topics can be covered efficiently.

Day 1

This course will introduce you to the main skills you would require to survive and leave you with a good understanding which, if you wanted to, can be taken further to increase your depth of knowledge and ability.
As most things in the outdoors take longer than expected we will be working in groups to ensure topics can be covered efficiently.
Subjects covered;
Your natural surroundings and interpreting them. Shelter building using natural materials and tarps & hammocks. Fire lighting including selection of suitable tinder. Water, sourcing, collecting, filtering and purifying.
Additional subjects which may get covered if we have time;
Natural cord / string making using many different materials. Camp gadgets.
A real adventure which will introduce you to many bushcraft skills. A great way to experience the great outdoors while learning.
This course is aimed at adults and accompanied mid / late teens.

Inclusions

No-frills Accommodation

A woodland with compost toilet and fire area, other than that its what we make on the day!

    What's included

  • Drink Hot drinks through out the day (Tea, Coffee & Hot Chocolate)
  • Equipment All equipment for the activities, you will just need your own suitable outdoor clothing & lunch (a mug is also useful)

    What you'll need

  • Warm Clothing Dress for colder than the weather forecast, we dont get the sun as much in the woods. Recommended are long trousers even in the summer.
  • Waterproofs Whatever the weather, they can provide protection from the wind as well
  • Food Lunch and snacks for the day (instructors like chocolate too :-)
  • Camping Equipment a camp chair can be useful!

Cancellations

Custom Policy

If you cancel your booking: should you, or any member of your party, be forced to cancel your booking you must do so in writing and this letter / email must be signed by the person who signed the booking form. - Where a client cancels a course more than 4 weeks prior to the course date, the deposit is non-refundable. - Where a client cancels a course less than 4 weeks prior to the course date the course fee is non-refundable. Please note all cancellations should be confirmed in writing.
