Highlights

350 years of social history and Quaker stories are brought to life in more than 40 vibrant embroidered panels all housed within this architecturally stunning and original Georgian Meeting House.
Our unique and fascinating museum takes you on a journey through the Quaker influence on the modern world, exploring the industrial revolution, developments in science and medicine, the abolition of slavery, social reform, astronomy and ecology. Delight in the detail of the beautiful needlework and the craftsmanship involved in its creation. Made by over 4000 men, women and children from 15 countries, over 15 years, it’s a calm, serene and emotive experience for all. Audio guides are included in the entry price, enabling visitors to fully appreciate the stories behind these exquisite panels, plus we hold regular embroidery demonstrations and activities for children.
There is a lovely gift shop where you can purchase exclusive Quaker Tapestry embroidery kits and an array of beautiful items. The Garden Café serves brunch, lunch, hot & cold drinks and cake. Alternatively bring a picnic to enjoy in our Peace garden.
We are open Wednesday to Saturday 10am – 5pm (Last admission 4pm) Closed for lunch from 1- 1.30pm
