This fun hand's on experience will be from 10am - 11am, when you will be welcomed by Cathy or Rod at the Reception of the Farmhouse. Suitable for single people, couples and family groups. (minimum age 6 yrs)
You will be shown to the Owl and Wildlife Garden where you can browse, relax and meet the owls. This is also a rich Wildlife Area full of nectar, fruits and seeds, ponds, wild plants, and nesting corners. Rod will then meet up with you and take you to the Owl Barn, where you will fly your first owl to your gloved hand. You will learn about its flying and hunting skills, habitat preferences, and environmental needs. During the morning you will fly three or four small owls, and have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, and take plenty of photos. At the end of your session you can sit and enjoy the quiet calm of our garden in a delightful historic setting.
Rod will then show you to the Owl Barn where you will fly our small owls in the security of the barn and discover their features of adaptation and hunting techniques.
Each owl has its own personality, and there is plenty of time with each bird for discussion and chat.
A beautiful space, amazing flying and fantastic photographic and video opportunities.
After your flying experience, you can enjoy a drink and cake in our tea garden or Farmhouse dining room.
If you wish you may stay all day, have lunch and enjoy the Afternoon Flying Display at 2pm on a Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday during the summer season, at no extra charge.
