Rewild MTB

About Rewild MTB

Rewild MTB is owned and operated by Steve Chapman. Steve’s been riding bikes of all forms for as long as he can remember. He raced downhill from age 12, before getting in to BMX in his late teens. Steve lived and worked in North Wales for 3 years working as an outdoor education instructor where he rekindled a love of riding bikes off-road, while in Wales Steve gained a range of outdoor leadership qualifications, such as, Mountain Leader Award (Summer), Single Pitch Award (S.P.A), Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) and the Level 3 Mountain Bike Leader Award (MBLA). Steve is also a qualified bicycle mechanic and holds the Cytech technical two award. Steve’s travelled extensively, and has been fortunate enough to ride his bike in places such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Malaysia and Morocco. From the (more than occasional) cold and rain of Wales Steve then moved to Sabah in East Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. Whilst there Steve helped setup and managed a mountain bike tour company, leading single-day and multi-day trips all over Sabah. After returning to the UK in 2013 Steve started working for Shropshire based bicycle manufacturer Islabikes where he worked for just under 6 years. Why Rewild MTB? With a modern fast-paced lifestyle comes a disconnection from the very thing we’ve evolved to be, wild animals! The further we move away from our wild roots the harder it can be to find contentment in our lives. There are many ways to reconnect with your wild self but for Steve mountain bikes and particularly multi-day adventures on bikes were an eye opening experience. This is what he had been missing. Seeing the weather change, being self-sufficient with minimal gear and spending time sleeping outside is where Steve got a taste for rewilding himself. Rewild MTB is all about sharing these experiences with other people.
