Fancy winging it? This is the latest water sports craze to get on board which is provided by Aztec Adventure. The winner of the 'Small Visitor Attraction of the Year' and the 'Winner of Winner's Award' in the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards 2022/23!
Wingsurfing is the latest watersports craze to hit our waters. Unlike windsurfing, the wing isn’t attached to the board, but is still controlled by your hands whilst standing. No previous watersports experience is necessary and you can learn the basics on a large windsurf board or windSUP (stand-up paddleboard).
This introductory three hour course, provides a basic introduction to winging. The course is split into two parts; flying the wing ashore, and getting afloat. Together these sessions provide the fundamentals of wing control, translating its power into forward momentum and steering, whilst reinforcing the core skills of board balance to enable you to travel across the wind a short distance, gybe and return to starting point.Certificate issuing criteria
Having achieved these skills ashore, you will progress to using a board such as a windsurfer (with centreboard) or WindSUP. You will be able to launch and land safely, sailing across the wind, steering towards and away from the wind, and carrying out a basic gybe.Format
