Get hands-on with real rock climbing in the Peak District – a full day of learning, adventure, and challenge in a spectacular setting. Our outdoor climbing experience is perfect for those looking to try rock climbing for the first time. No indoor climbing experience is needed – just a sense of adventure and a willingness to give it a go. With expert instructors by your side, you’ll spend the day learning the ropes (literally), developing new skills, and climbing at your own pace.
What to ExpectWe’ll meet at 9.00am and head over to the crag to begin the day. The session typically takes place at Stanage Edge, one of the most iconic climbing venues in the UK. Occasionally, we may switch to an alternative site close by depending on weather or local conditions – but it will always be a short drive from Stanage.Your instructor will take you through a full safety briefing and introduction to climbing techniques. We’ll cover how to put on and adjust harnesses and helmets, how the rope systems work, and the basics of belaying. Then it’s time to start climbing!Throughout the day, we’ll set up a series of climbs with a range of difficulty levels, giving you the chance to build confidence and develop your technique. Our instructors are there to keep things safe and offer friendly guidance and support whenever you need it.If the group is up for it, we can also include a rock abseil during the session – an exciting way to experience descending the rock face and a great confidence-builder.The pace is relaxed, and we’ll tailor the challenge level to suit the group. Whether you’re climbing for the first time or just want a fun day outdoors, this is a brilliant way to experience the gritstone crags of the Peak District.
