Climbing and Abseiling Adventure at Wintour's Leap 
Climbing, abseiling and a touch of scrambling at the beautiful and inspiring venue of Wintour's Leap in the Lower Wye Valley.


Overview of the day

Having met you in the car park and arranged gear for everyone, we will walk down through the woods, passing the picturesque Church of Saint James and Medieval Village, to the base of the cliffs at Wintour's Leap (20-30 minutes). 

From here we will set up climbs to suit a range of abilities, shorter and easier climbs together with higher more difficult climbs for those who want a challenge.
Abseiling is also an option at this point.  With the aid of appropriate ropes any willing parties can safely abseil from a large ledge know as the Broadwalk, the exposure is likely to get the heart racing!

Having climbed and maybe abseiled we will embark on an 80m  high scramble, out of the Valley, back up to the road.  Having safely reached the large ledge, the Broadwalk, the scramble continues upwards through the trees, past a small cave, negotiating numerous ledges, to a lengthy roped section of exciting climbing, finishing with a somewhat exposed scramble to the top.  

Depending on the group and time, we may be able to fit a longer abseil in, a short walk from reaching the top of the scramble.



Who is this day for:

\\- those who haven't been rock climbing before
\\- those who have done a little climbing on a top rope inside, but haven't climbed outside before
\\- those who have climbed on a top rope outside before, had a great time, and want to climb more outside!
\\- those who have or haven't abseiled before

Under 18's must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
