Highlights
A half-day guided tour exploring part of Fairhaven Garden, the village of Ranworth and surrounding countryside, including St Helen’s Church, known as ‘the Cathedral of the Broads’. The tour starts and finishes at Fairhaven Garden. Walk through the west side of Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, a beautiful natural Broadland Garden, enjoy fabulous candelabra primulas and azaleas in spring, wild flowers, butterflies and dragonflies in summer and wonderful autumn colours and see the King Oak, a sapling at the time of the Battle of Hastings. The tour features a peaceful bridleway connecting Fairhaven with Ranworth and the popular Malthouse Broad. St Helen’s Church dates from the 14th century. The church has a magnificent 15th century rood screen, one of the finest in the country and the superb 15th century Ranworth Antiphoner, a richly illustrated liturgical book. Also enjoy the views of the Broads from the top of the church tower. The tour is approximately 4 miles. Price includes coffee/tea and cake at Fairhaven at the end of the tour and a donation to St Helen's Church.
