Highlights

Our advanced scrambling course looks at the fundamental skills needed to look after yourself and your partner on typical grade 3 terrain. We will look at rope work techniques inc, stance management, transitions between moving together or pitching and how we recognise when to do so. All the while keeping these areas slick while maintaining flow in our movement, and our rope work.
Learn core skills to keep you and your partner safe on scrambling terrain

Coaching with movement to become more confident on scrambling terrain

Route finding skills, through use of the guidebook and while on route

Techniques on how to safe guard each other with the use of the rope

Techniques on how to move together, including the use of a framework to assess the risk, selecting an appropriate technique for the terrain

How & when to construct belays, showing pros and cons of different methods

Day 1

We will cover how to effectively plan a day in the mountains, guide book interpretation and applying this to the route. The kit we carry and why, route finding en route, decision making on the route about where to go and how to use the rope, inc transitions between rope off, moving together and pitching the crux section on the scramble.

Day 2

On day two we will put into action what we have learned from day one on another scramble with the use of a rope to safeguard each other in different types of terrain and how to abseil should we need to.

  • Cancel before 31 days of your adventure and receive a 75% refund (minus payment processing fees).
  • Cancel within 30 days of the adventure with no refund.
