Ever fancied sleeping out in the wild? A weekend to remember for young and old(er)!
This course will introduce you to the main skills you would require to survive and leave you with a good understanding which, if you wanted to, can be taken further to increase your depth of knowledge and ability.
As most things in the outdoors take longer than expected we will be working in groups to ensure topics can be covered efficiently.

- Your natural surroundings and interpreting them.
- Shelter building using natural materials and tarps, and then sleeping in them!
- Fire lighting including selection of suitable tinder and friction.
- Water, sourcing, collecting, filtering and purifying.
- Safe and efficient Knife and saw use.
- Game preparation, cooking (and eating).
- Natural cord / string making using many different materials.
- Camp gadgets for hanging pans over your fire.
- Natural navigation using the stars, sun and landscape.
Inclusions
Accommodation - No Frills
You will be sleeping in an open woodland and will need your own sleeping bag, mat etc. We can provide some tarps but if you wish to use a small tent you would be welcome to.
The is a compost toilet on site.
What's Included
🥤 Drink - Tea, Coffee, Hot Choc will be provided throughout the weekend along with milk and non dairy alternative.
🧰 Equipment - Any tools required for the course will be provided.
What you'll need
🧤 Warm Clothing - Loads of layers, best to keep warm even if the weather forecast is looking good
☂️ Waterproofs - The weather can and frequently does change so please bring waterproofs

⛺ Camping Equipment - You will need sleeping bag, mat etc. If you would prefer to use a tent then there will be space for a small one or two.
