Highlights
Get out on the water in 2020 and learn how to drive a powerboat this year with one of our Powerboat Level 2 courses.
This entry-level powerboat course provides skills and background knowledge required to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. The course covers low-speed, close quarter boat handling, launching and recovery, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard recovery as well as an introduction to driving at planing speed and collision regulations.
2020 dates:
Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April
Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th May
Monday 3rd and Tuesday 4th August
Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th August

Day 1
You'll be kitted up and briefed before heading down to the boats. The day might look something like this, although it is subject to weather, tides, and conditions!
Trailer/Slipways, Parts of the boat & controls, Types of boat/engine, Safety Equipment & Killcord, Basic Boat equipment, Introduce high speed manoeuvres, Introduce low speed boat control.
There'll be a lunch break where you'll be able to buy food from our cafe or eat your own packed lunch. Theory will also be covered on land. Day 2
After getting kitted up again, you'll head down to the boats. The day might include the following:
Practice and refine boat control, Anchor & Towing , Man Overboard, Rules of the road, Chart work, GPS/compass work.
