With an experienced guide, you will explore Dartmoor’s varied terrain on a horse-back adventure, riding across wide-open moorland and ancient woodland on forward going, fit and enthusiastic horses. It’s these finer details that make all the difference and this horse riding experience on Dartmoor will exceed your expectations.ItineraryYou will be collected from your accommodation on Dartmoor in the Liberty Trails Ground crew vehicle and taken to the start of the ride to mount your horses. The start point of the ride will be planned according to your confidence and stamina levels and may involve boxing the horses out to a remote place to start a linear ride. You'll be guided around rocky tors, forest tracks, open grasslands, neolithic standing stones and Bronze Age Stone circles. You'll ride to a remote beauty spot where the Ground-crew will have set up a picnic in anticipation of your arrival. After a leisurely lunch, you'll ride on at pace finishing on a different part of the moor, where the horse lorry and ground crew vehicle will await your arrival with afternoon tea and cake, ahead of returning you to your accommodation.
