Highlights
Find a steep river with waterfalls, rocks, deep pools, squeezes and other obstacles, and follow it! Jumping into deep pools, squeezing through gaps, swimming rapids, climbing up wet rocks. Gorge Walking is a fun packed activity suitable for all ages and abilities. One of the most picturesque gorges in North Wales, the Afon Ddu is an ideal venue for a first taste of gorge walking. It involves scrambling up the river, some steep climbs, slides, and a deep pool at the end for some jumps if you're feeling brave.
Itinerary
14.00 We will meet up for introductions and a brief catch-up about our session at the car park for the gorge. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided to keep you comfortable in the water. Please note there are no changing facilities or toilet facilities in the car park. After changing into wetsuits and safety gear, it is just a couple of hundred metres until we enter the river! It can take anywhere between 2 and 4 hours to climb the gorge, followed by a steep walk back down to the cars to warm dry clothes.

What you'll need
🧤 Warm Clothing - Swimsuits or underwear are suitable for wear underneath wetsuits. Trainers are ideal as footwear, or walking shoes/boots that you are happy to get wet. Sandals or crocs are not suitable. Please bring some shorts to go on top of your wetsuit
🍴 Food - Snacks are ideal to keep you active for the session.
🥤 Drink - Plenty of water and/or hot drinks to keep you hydrated.
📋 Other - Towels and spare footwear to change into after the gorge walk. Changing robes and mats are available for hire or purchase to make the car park changing more comfortable!
