To be able to plan and follow walks of your own devising. Course Content
During the course you will learn all of the essential navigation techniques needed to be able to head out and follow routes in the countryside mainly on paths and tracks. Throughout the day we’ll aim to cover the following skills or techniques: Map Scales, Symbols, Grid System and Grid References
Compass Skills- taking a bearing and measuring distance
Pacing and Timing distances
Simple Navigational Strategies
Access- where you can and can’t go walking
