This half day workshop will give you the opportunity to delve into the fascinating world of book illustration. You will be encouraged to think visually and experiment with different art materials in a fun and supportive environment. We will some different illustration examples and you will be guided through making a series of simple books exploring visual narratives, character development and the interplay of text and imagery. You can attend with a book illustration idea in mind or create something completely new on the day. No previous art or drawing experience necessary as we will be experimenting with collage and simple printed imagery as well as more traditional art techniques but an interest in the creative and imaginative is a must! 
All materials will be provided but if there is a particular artistic medium that you prefer working with then feel free to bring your own additional materials and any inspiration you feel may be relevant to your illustrations.
