Woodland Wildlife Walks from Okehampton Station From the picturesque old Okehampton station, take a guided walk trough the wild Dartmoor woodlands and into town where you can choose to visit a range of interesting shops and attractions, or stop and find refreshment at the friendly cafes or pubs. Your walk will start from the station (9.30 start) and head out on to the edge of the moor where you can choose your route to include ancient woodlands, wildflowers, rushing rivers and habitats for scarce woodland creatures. Discover the origins of Okehampton at medieval or iron age settlements. Walk routes are typically 2.5 to 4.5km(1.5 to 3 miles) 2-3 hours approx. Your walk will end in the market town of Okehampton where you can have lunch and enjoy the afternoon before catching your return train home.
