I'm an award winning family photographer working with families throughout Somerset, Dorset and Devon, creating bespoke family photo shoots and capturing special moments of family life ... perfect for holidays and special occasions. When I'm not out and about photographing families, I spend my time teaching Pinhole Photography, Paddle boarding round Lyme Bay in Dorset and writing music - life could be worse!

Booking Policy

AGREEMENT OVERVIEW: In the following conditions of contract Deborah Johnson Photography shall mean Deborah Johnson and any photographer appointed by her to work for the photography session. The ‘client’ shall be those whose names appear on the contract. If the clients arrange for a third party to meet the cost of this contract the contract remains with the clients. The due performance of the contract is subject to the conditions below and cannot be varied in any way by the clients unless expressly agreed by Deborah Johnson Photography in writing. 

 HOUSE RULES: clients agree and understand that Deborah Johnson Photography is limited by the guidelines of the location site/venue management/government rules and clients agree to accept the results that may occur from said guidelines. Negotiation with the officials/management for moderation of guidelines is solely the clients responsibility. If a client(s) appear under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the shoot, or not well enough to take part, Deborah Johnson Photography has the right to cancel the shoot immediately due to public liability and health and safety concerns. 

 IMAGES and COPYRIGHTS: Photographs/images produced by Deborah Johnson Photography are protected by Copyright and remain the property of Deborah Johnson Photography. Upon final payment by clients, clients are allowed to display resulting images for personal use only. Said images may not be digitally altered in any manner without prior written permission of Deborah Johnson Photography. Clients will receive a high resolution digital images (Jpegs) with printing rights. When publishing the photos on social media, Deborah Johnson Photography must be credited as the photographer. The client must not benefit commercially from the reproduction of these photographs in any form. Please contact Deborah Johnson Photography is you require a commercial licence. Deborah Johnson Photography will choose the best images from your session. The client does not take part in the process of choosing which images will be selected for the final gallery. Every images that is chosen will be fully edited to Deborah Johnson Photography’s high standard. 

 MODEL RELEASE. Deborah Johnson Photography reserves the right to publish photographs of the clients or in which the clients may be included, for editorial, trade, advertising or any other commercial purpose. The clients hereby release Deborah Johnson Photography and all associates, representatives and assigns from any and all claims, actions, demands, suits, liabilities, damages, expenses, and obligations of any kind arising from, or related in any manner to Deborah Johnson Photography’s use of said images. 

 RETAINER & PAYMENT SCHEDULE: Full refunds are only offered if cancellation is at least 7 days before the activity is due to start.  If extras are added on the day of the photo shoot, payments must be paid before the images are delivered to clients. Extra print and digital packages are payable at time of ordering. Prices agreed on booking are guaranteed for 6 months, after which time prices may then be subject to increase without notice.  Journeys which require more than 20 miles of travel from Ilminster will incur travel expenses at Deborah Johnson Photography’s discretion. 

CANCELLATIONS: In the highly unlikely event that Deborah Johnson Photography needs to cancel and event due to injury, extreme illness, or an unavoidable total photographic failure that prevents Deborah Johnson Photography from photographing the event, Deborah Johnson’s liability shall be limited to a full refund of any booking fee or fees paid. Reshoots may be arranged if practicable but Deborah Johnson Photography will not be responsible for any further costs.  Deborah Johnson Photography will endeavour to appoint another photographer to attend a booking from a pool of supportive photographers within the West Country, however no guarantees can be made to match skills and prices at short notice for specific dates and times.

LIMIT OF LIABILITY: Deborah Johnson Photography takes the upmost care with respect to exposure, storage, and processing the photographs/images, but cannot and does not, guarantee that photographs/images of the event will not be lost, stolen, or destroyed for reasons within or beyond Deborah Johnson Photography's control. The client agrees that Deborah Johnson Photography's full and complete responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the event.  

 COMPLETION SCHEDULE: Images can be expected to be edited within two weeks after the photo shoot date dependant on the volume of photographs taken. Albums and extras will be available anywhere from 2-6 weeks, after they are ordered. These items can be collected from Deborah Johnson Photography's studio by appointment only, or sent on request by recorded delivery. Post and Packing will be quoted for and must be paid for in advance.
