I am the founder of Marmalade MTB a Sussex based mountain biking adventure activity company, that provides weekly guided rides, coaching sessions and MTB holidays and experiences across the UK.
My qualifications include both Level 2 and Level 3 mountain bike leadership qualifications from British Cycling, along with the essential two day outdoor first aid certificate. This allows me to lead groups of up to 8 riders on extreme terrain in remote places anywhere on the British Isles.
I have been very lucky that the passion and adventure of mountain biking has taken me all over the world which includes destinations such as New Zealand, Patagonia, Bulgaria, Canada, Scandinavia and across Europe.
I set up Marmalade in 2016 and it has grown from 1 monthly guided ride to a suite of 12 weekly rides across the South East and mountain biking weekend trips in the Peak District and for the famous South Downs Way. We pride ourselves on a super friendly and sociable vibe which ensures your experience, regardless of whether its a one day ride or a multi-day trip is all about you maximising the thrill and adventure of MTB.

This page details the terms and conditions of sale and operations of services sold by Marmalade MTB (hereinafter also referred to as “the company”, “our”, “we” or “us”), of Flat 1 Finlandia, Elm Grove, BN15 8PD, West Sussex. The term ‘client’ refers to the individual or organisation making the booking. Please take the time to read and understand these conditions prior to booking with us as they set out our respective rights and obligations. We also strongly recommend that you also read all the details set out in the web page relating to your trip prior to booking to ensure that you understand the itinerary and style of the trip you are undertaking. These terms and conditions, together with any written information we brought to your attention before we confirmed your booking constitute the entire understanding and agreement between us and by completing a booking you are accepting these terms and conditions. By submitting a booking form online, the first named person on the booking agrees on behalf of all persons detailed on the booking that:
INSURANCE Clients are required to take out adequate insurance to cover themselves and their luggage for travel, and for all sports and activities they intend to take part in as well as for extra costs and charges incurred from delays, cancellations, rescheduling, repatriation or any other factors outside our control. We always recommend guest bikes are fully insured. PROPERTY Although we will make every effort to ensure the safe carriage of your property, the property of the client is carried at their own risk and no responsibility for any loss or damage can be accepted by our company. Please ensure that your luggage is adequately insured. We will take all reasonable care when transporting bikes; however we are not responsible financially for any damage caused by a third party during our trip, as a result of off road cycling or during transit to the start point of the trip. All luggage should be clearly labelled with the owner’s name and contact details. SPECIAL REQUESTS Any special requests must be advised to us at the time of booking. You should then confirm your requests in writing/email. Whilst every effort will be made by us to try and arrange your reasonable special requests, we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled. The fact that a special request has been noted on your confirmation invoice or any other documentation or that it has been passed on to the supplier is not confirmation that the request will be met. Failure to meet any special request will not be a breach of contract on our part unless the request has been specifically confirmed. We do not accept bookings that are conditional upon any special request being met. FLEXIBILITY You appreciate and acknowledge that the nature of this type of trip requires considerable flexibility and you should allow for alternatives. The itinerary provided for each trip is representative of the types of trips we run but is subject to change due to weather, events or the general ability of the group (if taking part in group activity). CHANGE OF ITINERARY While we endeavour to operate all trips as described we reserve the right to change the trip itinerary. After departure: We reserve the right to change an itinerary after departure as a result of weather, local circumstances or events outside of our control. In such emergency circumstances the additional cost of any necessary itinerary alterations will be covered by you. In this case, we are not responsible for any incidental expenses that may be incurred as a result of the change of itinerary. AUTHORITY ON GUIDED RIDE, TRIP OR COACHING Our group trips, unless stated as being run by a partner company, are run by a Marmalade MTB guide or coach. The decision of the guide or coach is final on all matters likely to affect the safety or well-being of any person participating in the trip. If you fail to comply with a decision made by a guide or coach, or interfere with the well-being of the group, the guide or coach may order you to leave the trip immediately, with no right of refund. In such a circumstance, where a traveller is removed from the trip, we accept no responsibility for their transfer back to the trip end point or any costs incurred therein. Any transport arranged for the traveller in question will be at our discretion. We may also elect not to carry you on any future trips booked. You must at all times comply with the laws, customs, and local regulations. LIABILITY AND COMPENSATION Our responsibility does not commence until the appointed time at the designated meeting point. If you fail to arrive there at the appointed time for whatever reason, we will not be responsible for any additional expenses incurred by you to meet up with the group. We shall not be held liable for any damages caused by the total, or partial failure to carry out the contract if such failure is due to the theft of bicycles or injury as a result of cycling either on or off road and in particular injuries as a result of either inadequately maintained and serviced personal equipment or failure to wear the correct safety equipment most notably cycle helmets. We will accept liability for our negligence causing direct physical injury to passengers only to the extent that it is obliged under British law. We cannot accept any liability in the event of delay and resulting costs incurred by the client due to circumstances out of their control. These circumstances can include, but are not limited to, the following examples:
Road traffic accidents causing delays Deaths or accidents causing injury on the roads Vehicle breakdowns Unforeseen problems caused by other passengers Industrial action Civil unrest Any action of a third party that damages vehicles Severe weather conditions Actions of the police, customs officers or any other government officer that results in delay Force Majeure (e.g.: war, natural disaster, act of god etc) We shall not be liable for any damages caused by the total or partial failure to carry out the trip if such failure is: attributable to anyone other than us; unforeseeable or unavoidable and attributed to a third party unconnected to us; a result of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances, reasonably beyond our control; a result of an event which we or any of our agents, even with all due care, could not foresee. I agree that the terms of this agreement shall serve as a complete release and express assumption of risk for myself, all members of my family and all minors travelling with me, my and their heirs, successors, assigns, and legal representatives. It is my intention to fully assume all risks associated with this tour and to release the company from any and all liability to the maximum extent permitted by law. I further agree to “indemnify” the company against any claim by any person, including minors, arising in whole or in part from an injury or other loss suffered or caused by me in connection with the expedition or my participation in the trip. I have carefully read and understand the provisions and legal consequences of this agreement, and I hereby agree to all of its conditions. I agree that if any portion of this agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining portions shall remain in full force and effect. I acknowledge that by accepting these terms and conditions (i.e. by completing a booking), this constitutes my acceptance of this agreement.
