Coasteering in West Cornwall with Kernow Coasteering

  • Location Praa Sands
  • Price from £45.00

Come and try coasteering with us on the rugged coastline of west Cornwall. Coasteering has become one of the 'must-do' activities when visiting Cornwall, up there with trying surfing and indulging in cream teas! Combine exploring the hidden sections of Cornwall's magical coastline with the thrill of wild swimming, rock hopping and, of course, cliff jumping. And don't forget about those Atlantic swells adding to the excitement too. Reaching the spots that other activities cannot reach, coasteering is the only way to truly experience Cornwall's coastline.

We offer coasteering at a number of locations in west Cornwall. The activity is open to everyone aged 9 or above. No previous experience is required and all equipment is provided. A reasonable level of fitness and some swimming ability is required. Note that children younger than 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to participate in any of our coasteering adventures.

Jumping not required, swimming unavoidable!

If we appear to be full on our calendar, please contact us. We often have extra availability not available online.

You will meet us in the car park of our chosen coasteering location that day. After filling out participation forms, we will give you wetsuits, helmets and buoyancy aids, and give you any help needed to make sure we all all prepared and safe to enter the water. We then set off to begin our coasteering adventure, but before we can get stuck in, your guide will give you the all important safety briefing.
We then set off on our route and you will get a feel for moving along the rocky terrain, as well as getting in the water and getting accustomed to wearing all of the coasteering equipment. Pretty soon you'll arrive at your first jumps where your guide will explain the technique needed to ensure you jump safely. But don't worry, the first jumps are always small, and if you decided jumping is not for you, then that's no problem. Adrenalin junkies, don't worry, the big ones are coming later!
Once we've covered jumping and the other core skills needed to effectively traverse the coasteering environment we don't hang about exploring the coast. We get a chance to explore all the crevices and gullies only accessible by coastline. There will be caves and arches and cracks to swim and walk through, as well as many other unique coastal features. And the jumps are plentiful, with small, medium and large jumps always on offer. Do remember that all jumps are optional, you can do all of the jumps, or you can avoid them altogether - one of the wonderful things about coasteering is its flexibility.
At Kernow Coasteering we have tirelessly coasteered the coastline of west Cornwall in search of the best coasteering spots for our guests. All of our routes have lots of exciting features, caves, gullies, and a large variety of cliff jumps. Not to mention being stunning areas of natural beauty. Feedback from our guests has always been very good, with the majority saying that coasteering with us was the best coasteering adventure that they've been on. We look forward to you coming and finding out for yourselves.
