A Derwent Valley Tours Walk!
A 6 mile full day circular walk taking you along ancient roads. We start with North lane, an amazingly well preserved but little known Roman road. We stop for lunch at the “Holly Bush” an inn with Dick Turpin associations on the old coach road to Sheffield (reservations will be made for pub lunches). We continue up the sunken Dark Lane used by Mary Queen of Scots and then along an ancient track with fantastic views and finally follow the medieval deer park boundary back into Belper.
What you’ll need: PAYMENT FOR LUNCH OR A SNACK Suitable clothing and footwear. Parts of the route are on rough surfaced paths and on steep slopes.
Meet at the front entrance to Strutt’s Community Centre, Derby Road, Belper (DE56 1UU), car park available, Transpeak and Sixes bus stop.
