Highlights
This is a scenic tour which explores a wider area of the Peak District National Park. Experience the contrasts between the atmospheric gritstone edges and huge landscapes of the Dark Peak, alongside the more gentle, rolling hills and valleys of the White Peak.
Highlights include Higgar Tor, with an option for an easy walk to a magnificent viewpoint overlooking an Iron Age fort, the charming village of Hathersage and the famous grave of Little John, Derwent Dam, famous for its links to the Dambusters during WWII, the historic village of Castleton, complete with views from Winnats Pass and Mam Tor, the Plague Village of Eyam, a drive through the Chatsworth estate to the idyllic village of Tissington and a drive through the magnificent Dovedale scenery. To complete the day, we will, also stop at Monsal Head to take in the celebrated view of Monsal Dale and the Headstone Viaduct.
This tour can include as much or as little walking as you prefer so is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.
Refreshment stops are available throughout the day.
Itinerary
We would suggest a pick up time of 10am and would expect to return at around 5pm.
The itinerary can be flexible on the day to suit your preferences, as this is a private tour. So, if there is somewhere that you particularly want to visit on your tour, we will try and fit that in for you. We pride ourselves on flexibility and love a challenge!
