Alpaca Orchard Walk (With Cream Tea Add-On Option)

This unique and memorable two hour Alpaca Experience is the perfect chance to get to know these amazing and characterful animals. The experience includes:

• An hour of alpaca walking, leading the alpacas through the field and an idyllic Devon orchard; 
• Time up close with the whole herd, any crias (baby alpacas) and other animals;
• Drinks and cake alongside the alpaca paddock, or in our cosy barn style undercover seating (or upgrade to our Devonshire Cream Tea!);
• Time for a browse in our alpaca themed gift shop!

We keep groups sizes small and personal and each person in the group will have the option to walk their own alpaca. 

The Walk:

• After a welcome to the farm, an introduction to the alpacas and some alpaca walking tips, you will team up with your own individual alpaca companion and we will take a wander around the field and our orchard trail. 
• The alpacas enjoy their walks and we take it at 'alpaca pace' meaning the perfect chance to slow down, enjoy the great outdoors and the natural company of these wonderful animals. 
• The route follows a gentle, mown grassy path around the field and wild orchard. There are a few small slopes, but it is a generally easy, slow paced and relaxed walk, suitable for most fitness levels and ages. 
• We will chat about all things ‘alpaca’ as we go and you will learn all about our herd, how we care for them and your alpaca too!

Meet the herd:

• We will then introduce you to our different groups of alpacas, including the girls and any young alpacas, all with their different personalities and stories. 
• Whilst in the alpaca paddocks you will have the opportunity to get up close with the alpacas, take photos surrounded by the alpacas and feed them their favourite treats! 
• A visit would also not be complete without saying hello to Peggy and Wilbur, our resident pot-bellied pigs!

Relax:
After the walk and tour we invite you to enjoy a hot or cold drink and some homemade cake (both included) alongside the alpaca paddock if the weather is nice. We also have a lovely barn style undercover seating area to keep cool in the hot months. 

Devonshire Cream Tea Option (£7.50 Extra Per Person, must be booked in advance):
Upgrade your booking and enjoy a delicious traditional Devonshire Cream Tea, in one of our picnic areas or in our undercover seating area.

The Cream Tea is served in a wicker picnic basket with everything you need, so you can easily choose your favourite spot to sit on the farm. It includes per person:

• Two sultana scones
• A generous tub of local clotted cream
• Two mini pots of Strawberry & Rhubarb and Blackcurrant jam (we can also offer traditional strawberry). 
• Classic Breakfast and Earl Grey Tea 
• A choice of one additional or alternative hot or cold drink from our varied drinks menu.
• Alternative Options: We can offer plain scones, gluten free scones and a vegan Cream Tea option. Before the checkout we will ask you if there are any dietary requirements, please let us know in advance as our Cream Teas are prepared to order and we will provide classic sultana scones as standard.

Shop:
At the end of the experience we will open up our Alpaca Room Gift Shop, which is packed full of alpaca goodies, yarn & gifts to browse. 
A chance to take away a little souvenir from your visit to us at Little Orchard Alpacas. 

Price:

• Adults (18+): £28.50

• Child (Ages 10-17): £25 (Can walk their own alpaca, however a minimum of one adult must be booked in at the adult price, alongside under 18s.)

• Child (Ages 5- 9): £15 (All children under 10 must share an alpaca lead with a separate booked adult).

• Meet the alpacas and drinks only: £7.50

If you would like to sit out for the alpaca experience, but join your party at the end for drinks, this option can be added on as an extra. There will also be opportunity for you to meet all the alpacas as part of the tour element of the experience. 

• Babies in carriers or slings – free of charge with an adult ticket.

Important Information:

• If you have 8 or more people please get in touch with us directly to book a private walk. 
• This is a two hour experience, however we say to allow two and a half hours as time flies when you are having fun and we may run over, this also gives plenty of time to enjoy your drinks at the end!
• This is a very slow walk at 'alpaca pace'. It is a relaxing and fun experience with the focus on quality time, where you can really see each alpaca's personality, rather than a trek!
• This experience is suitable for ages 5 and upwards only. This experience isn’t suitable for young toddlers or for prams or pushchairs. 
• Please wear sturdy footwear, wellies in wet weather and long trousers throughout the year. 
• Please ensure you have read our full terms and conditions before booking. 
• Weather Policy: If the weather is unsuitable (very heavy rain, windy or high temperatures) we will get in touch the day before your walk to let you know and either postpone or offer a refund. Whilst we only cancel in very bad weather, we are usually happy to offer a postponement if it is not pleasant and it would make the experience more enjoyable for everyone!
