Inspired by the Quaker Tapestry panels you will learn how to hand embroider your own unique and personal panel narrating a story or event of your choice - perhaps a celebratory event you have been part of, your life story or the birth of a new baby in the family or even a completely fictional story. You'll learn how to transfer a design to your choice of beautiful fabrics, alongside basic hand embroidery stitches to bring your design to life. By the end of the workshop you will have learnt different hand embroidery techniques and stitches, how to create and transfer designs, how to embroider lettering and have a completed (or nearly completed) panel suitable for framing or turning into a functional item such as a cushion. The workshop is suitable for people of all levels of embroidery experience from beginners to the more accomplished embroiderer.
