A full day guided walk to explore the beautiful countyside, and to learn about the fascinating history around the village of Eyam. We ascend out of Eyam to Lady Wash lead mine, one of the last working lead mines in Derbyshire. After Sir William Hill, a high point on our walk, we make our way over the heather clad Eyam Moor, descending to the delightful Abney Clough. Our route then climbs out of the valley and traverses lonely Offerton Moor with far reaching views of surrounding moors and heather. We make our way back to Eyam via Abney Grange and the lovely village of Foolow. A stunning and historical walk with plenty of variety! The distance is about 11.5 miles/18km with approx 738 metres of ascent.
