The Rose of Hungerford (Dun Mill Lock)

  • Location Hungerford
  • Price from £10.00

Highlights

A regular trip usually on Wednesday, Saturday, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays.
The Hungerford Branch of the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust covers a particularly beautiful stretch of the canal, between Kintbury and Great Bedwyn. The main activity is running The Rose of Hungerford, a traditional widebeam boat, based at Hungerford Wharf, which offers regular public trips and private charters along the canal. The Rose has large picture windows at the front and along both sides which can be opened in good weather and efficient central heating if it is a bit chilly. The boat is crewed and run by fully-trained volunteers so all funds raised can go to the Trust. We welcome passengers young and old and are delighted to have the opportunity to show our guests all that the Kennet and Avon Canal has to offer; beautiful countryside, historic buildings and a wide variety of wildlife. The crew will ensure your comfort and safety during the trip and you can enjoy a range of refreshments.
We have a wheelchair lift for anybody unable to board and disembark the boat using steps. The lift will only accommodate self-powered chairs - not electric or scooters.
Children must be accompanies by at least one adult.
To book a private charter of this or any other trip, please send an enquiry via the main website.
