Highlights

Learn the Nordic Walking technique and feel the power of the poles - just the tonic for body and sole!
Overview
This fun, engaging 2.5 hr workshop is about learning and developing the correct Nordic walking technique under the expert guidance of a British Nordic Walking instructor.  You will then be able to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits of regular Nordic walking activities as part of an active lifestyle.
Our session starts on the recreation ground at Shiplake where we get you set up with your poles and introduce you to the Nordic walking technique.  We then we go out on the paths over the fields and through the woods, continuing to develop you new skills while enjoying the Chilterns countryside. You will learn the INWA 10-steps of Nordic Walking, and you will be given plenty of support and guidance along the way.
What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic Walking is a fantastic way to turn a simple walk into full body exercise. It is a great outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of age, ability and fitness level - from wellness walks and walk workouts, to trail walks, and cross training. By using specially designed poles to add 'four wheel drive' to our natural walking experience, we make something we all learn at a very young age twice as effective!  At Pipsticks Walks we ensure that you receive expert tuition to help you develop the correct Nordic Walking technique and get the most benefit from this fantastic activity.
Why Nordic Walk?
Nordic Walking is sociable, affordable, effective and fun!  The physical and mental health benefits of walking in the great outdoors are well documented.  But add some poles and Nordic Walking will help to:
  • burn up to 46% more calories compared to walking without poles
  • work 90% of your muscles
  • release tension in the neck and shoulders strengthen back and abdominal muscles and improve posture
  • reduce impact on the joints

Get the Nordic walking technique right and the result is a full body workout.
