From the edge of this ancient land, the vistas are simply breathtaking. On a clear day you can watch the sun set behind the Yorkshire Dales in the distance. Below are expansive, flat plains that go on as far as the eye can see. The skies here are simply huge.
It's the most perfect place to watch day turn to night. Walk by the light of the moon. And gaze in wonder at a sparkling, star-filled sky when it's very dark.
Depending on the route\* we take that day, we may descend down a steep escarpment to a lake. Cradled by ancient woodlands, this tarn was formed over 20,000 years ago. It has a depth of stillness and light which is simply magical after sunset.
Walking at night is an incredibly powerful way of reconnecting you to nature too. Even more so, when we try to time our walks around special celestial events, such as meteor showers. The result? Your WOW-factor will be ramped up.
You'll find out a bit of information about the night sky. PLUS we’ll teach you how to ‘fine tune’ your senses so you'll get even more out of the experience. The result? You'll feel 'awe-struck', calmer, restored, all zingy inside. And you may even leave all your worries behind too.
Obviously we can't guarantee if we'll see stars or that we'll have good weather. But it'll still be an incredible experience that'll leave you feeling revitalised and awe-struck.

The walk length is roughly 4.5 miles and mainly on footpaths. There are steep hills, rough ground and mud in this walk route too. Mud is unavoidable at this time of the year I'm afraid, but we are in a natural environment!
Sometimes if the weather has been OR is inclement we'll need to change the route, but the alternative will still be totally awesome. In very bad weather we'll postpone the event to another day. If you cannot make that new date, we'll issue you with a full refund.
