Ghyll scrambling also know as gorge walking is the ultimate Lake District activity. Walk, swim and climb your way through the water in the Lake Districts most beautiful locations. Your experienced instructor will guided you up rocky mountain streams, through showering water falls and down incredible jumps, all while keeping you safe so you can push yourself that little bit further.

Church Beck, Coniston is one of the most popular ghyll scrambling venues in the South Lakes area, with deep pools, big jumps and slides. If your looking to get the adrenaline flowing this is the activity for you.

Requirements
For this venue the minimum age is 10 years.

Medium to high level of fitness is required.

All under 18's must be supervised by a parent or guardian who is taking part in the activity.

Please note: spectating of this activity is not possible due to the nature of the gorge. there are many pubs and cafes nearby that we can recommend.

  • Other Swimming costume, towel, an old pair of shorts to wear on the outside of the wetsuit, good fitting trainers or boots (no aqua shoes, flop flops or crocs) and a change of clothes for afterwards
