Embark on an experience like no other and not only “see” space but “feel” it too!

We are thrilled to host an enthralling evening delivered by Jo and Pete from ‘Space Detectives’, a team of astronomers who have been running Space and Stargazing events for over 10 years. You will journey into the stars, learning about the origins of stars and how planets form, travel to distant far-flung galaxies and examine how our ancestors would have seen the night sky centuries ago, and uncover the myths and legends surrounding the constellation patterns, as told by the ancient Greeks. And once the introduction is complete, and if the sky is clear, you will be shown some of the wonders of our Universe using high end “Go To” telescopes and laser guided star hopping. And lastly (if this wasn't enough!) the evening will end by leaving Earth behind you and taking a Virtual journey into space, with a Virtual Reality Showtime headset experience.

An autumnal supper of stew with dumplings and crusty bread will warm you up before the talk starts, served by our award-winning Nectary Restaurant. Vegan and vegetarian options will be available.

We hope you will join us for this very special and immersive evening at Quince Honey Farm, as part of the Exmoor Dark Skies Festival 2024! Customers can book online (booking fee applies), or book by phone (01769 572 401), or in person in our shop.

Please note:
  • The event is suitable for beginners, those new to cosmology and stargazing, for adults and older children age 12 years +.
  • Tickets must be booked in advance and cannot be purchased on the door.
