This is a distinctly do-able challenge which enables you to revel in the wonderment of walking under the canopy of a beautiful starlit sky before the ‘wow’ of seeing the sunrise from the top of the highest mountain in Wales. The Snowdon Sunrise Experience was introduced last year and already we’ve added more dates as people are latching onto the enticing prospect of walking Snowdon’s most popular path at its quietest, topped off by the special beauty of seeing dawn break as the peak nears. In a nutshell: Enjoy the beautiful, memorable experience of walking in wonderment under a dark sky before seeing dawn breaking across a mountain range. Challenge yourself to summit the highest mountain in Wales. Rejoice in the fact that you’re walking one of the most popular hiking routes when it’s quiet. Relish being in the company of a small group of like-minded people who also appreciate the specialness of the occasion.

Please note the start time may vary a little, depending on the time of year and sunrise time, We will confirm the exact time a month beforehand.
We meet at the start of the Llanberis Path at around 2am where our guides will then begin the hike to the summit.
As you walk the well-trodden path your eyes will adjust to the night and you can absorb the beauty that comes with walking in the Dark Sky Reserve of the Snowdonia National Park thanks to the low levels of light pollution.
The path might be the longest route to the top of Snowdon but it’s also the most gradual which enables the group to really get the maximum out of the night walking experience, particularly the stillness and tranquillity and the mesmerizing effect as light slowly seeps in as dawn gathers on the horizon.
On reaching the summit (an excellent achievement in itself!) we allow enough time to soak up the sunrise and vistas across the landscape of North Wales and the Irish Sea.
Some toast it in with a flask of coffee or quietly munching on a chocolate bar while just enjoying the pleasure of knowing they’ve completed a tough ascent ahead of the many walkers trekking the route later in the day.
We then retrace our steps down the mountain, arriving back at base at around 9am in time for a well-earned breakfast (not included).
You’ll be working up a sweat. Bring along a touch of enthusiasm and a little determination
