Highlights

Full day ride, Bakewell and the Monsal Trail, 30km
A varied ride that starts following the Monsal Trail; a recreational trail along a disused railway, imperceptibly climbing towards Buxton. A couple of short but challenging tracks take you high above the village of Chelmorton where you join quiet lanes to enjoy a long, gentle descent to Bakewell, to join the Monsal Trail once again and return to Hassop Station.

We will meet at Hassop Station with its cafe, bike shop and bike hire. Bike hire can be arranged beforehand.

We will start with a quick 'M check' of our bikes and a chat about riding techniques, including gears, braking and riding position. After chatting through the route, we will set off.

Challenge:
Terrain 2/3
Hills 2/3
Fitness Level 2/3
Overall Challenge 2/3

On the route we can talk about how to plan your own cycling adventures, looking at navigation, equipment, rights of way, safety and more.

You must have a good level of fitness and be used to riding a bike.
