Highlights

Join us for a guided walk in Glen Nevis, an iconic Highland glen with a fascinating history and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. We'll take you off the beaten track on a route that follows the River Nevis. You'll have the chance to experience nature and learn about the history of Glen Nevis.

The route passes through sites used in major Hollywood productions (Braveheart, Highlander, Harry Potter) and, depending on where the cattle are at the moment of the walk, you'll likely meet our fold of Highland Cattle.

The meeting point will be in the field on your left 150/200 metres beyond the cattle grid further up the Glen on the Glen Nevis Road in Fort William.

The next guided walk will be on Friday 10th May 2024 at 9.30.

We will have guided walks on most Thursdays and Sundays over the months June and July!
Dates for August, September and October will become available for online booking at the start of July.

Please Note Before Booking
  • We will take our time, and the tour will take approximately 2 hours. Most of the walk is off-track, and the terrain will be rough in places, so a reasonable level of fitness is required.
  • Please come prepared for the always-changing Highland weather. The path can be muddy, so a good pair of walking shoes/boots is essential.
  • During the walk we will likely enter areas grazed by our herd of Highland Cattle. They are very friendly, but a safe distance should be kept at all times.
  • We'll be walking in areas of long grass with the risk of exposure to ticks. Long trousers are advised.
  • Midges can be a problem on still, damp days (May to September), so you might want to bring some repellent.
  • The minimum age for the tour is 5 years old, and all those under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The route is unsuitable for dogs as we might enter areas with sheep and cattle.
  • The route is not suitable for wheelchairs, sorry.
  • There are no toilets available at the start of the walk or along the way.
